Health Staff Australia is a proudly Registered NDIS Provider, specialising in delivering essential supports to individuals with disabilities.
As a dedicated Registered NDIS Provider, we adhere to the guidelines outlined in the NDIS Guide, showcasing the diverse ways in which we can assist and enhance the well-being of participants. With a commitment to excellence, we strive to contribute positively to the lives of those we serve, ensuring that each individual receives the tailored support they require to lead fulfilling and empowered lives within
the NDIS framework.
We have a fundamental core value in providing the best care and assistance, Health Staff Australia is committed to looking at all aspects of your life and areas that may be overlooked - therefore we work with your Support coordinators, but also include advice and insight from Occupational therapists and other Healthcare Providers to ensure optimal support in the use of the allocated funds.
Our care is comprehensive, and we strive to ensure support that encompasses the full spectrum of understanding the challenges participants face in living with a disability. Our Disability Care Workers commit to a holistic approach, forming firm bonds with our participants that often lead to lifelong friendships. This means our Care Workers are trained to understand that a physical disability may also require encouragement and psychological support and a mental disability may require encouragement and physical support in accessing and interacting with the community or participating in activities that promote and uplift mental well-being.
Ultimately our goal is to go above and beyond, and we always encourage and welcome our participants to advocate for additional needs that fall outside the scope of their care plan. This can come in the form of additional care shifts and the benefit of offering a range of support shifts tailored to your needs.
*Every NDIS-registered provider, whether Certified or Verified, is required to undergo audits every three years for Certificate of Registration renewal. Audits assess adherence to NDIS Practice Standards, staff compliance with the NDIS Code of Conduct, the presence of a Complaints Management & Resolution system, an Incident Management system, NDIS Worker Screening, appropriate Key Personnel, and notification of any changes to company structure or services offered.*
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a form of paid assistance aimed at fostering independence by providing support with daily tasks and skill development. This includes help with personal care and meal preparation, all taking place in your home. SIL is available for those living with others or on their own, though alternative Personal Care Supports may be more suitable for some.
It's essential to note that SIL funding does not cover rent or daily expenses. Best suited for those with high support needs, SIL is included in the NDIS plan for individuals requiring significant assistance to live independently, with funding determined based on the level of support needed in their chosen housing option.
Our support workers receive compensation based on the Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Service Award. This award encompasses various allowances, including a minimum 2-hour shift, overtime pay after 10 hours, rates for afternoon and evening shifts, allowances for broken shifts (between shifts), sleepovers, kilometers traveled, and a first aid allowance.
